Smirk - Based on the memoir, SMIRK, by Christie Smythe, Stephanie developed the script for this dark comedy in partnership with Alex Kurtsman's Secret Hideout. A young, ambitious journalist gets a chance to write an exclusive book on Martin Shkreli, The Most Hated Man in America, at the height of his criminal trial. Their relationship sends her down a rabbit hole that will either lead to self-empowerment or self-destruction.
Maiden - Stephanie adapted the documentary MAIDEN, about the first all-women sailing team to sail around the world in the Whitbread race, for LuckyChap and HBO Max. The doc originally premiered at TIFF and Sundance and was shortlisted for the Oscar.
How Not To Bomb - In this dark comedy, an irreverent young army vet drags his struggling former squad mate on a cross-country comedy tour in an effort to cheer him up and get him laid, until one moment from the battlefield threatens to tear their friendship apart. Written originally for Astronauts Wanted/SONY.
Unt. Syria Project - A disillusioned American teenage girl travels to Syria to help ISIS build what she has been led to believe is a better world. A coming-of-age action/thriller that explores the complexities of extremism and the all-too-present dangers of dehumanizing the other side. Currently in pre-production with Oscar-nominated Syrian director Feras Fayyad
